EATMEPOPTART 2022 Playlist September Update
What an monstrous month of parties we had. We kick off the brand new month with another series of parties along with our newly updated Eatmepoptart 2022 Spotify playlist - 25 brand new tracks to accompany your rainy nights and pre-game weekends with your loved ones and fellow popettes. Check out our five picks!
1. ARCTIC MONKEYS - “There’d Better Be A Mirrorball”
Arctic Monkeys will always have a place in our hearts. The news of their seventh album The Car, together with the first single and video "There’d Better Be a Mirrorball" got our pulses racing! This is isn't a dancefloor banger, instead, it makes a pitstop into tender territory. "Mirrorball" is a gorgeous breakup song that captures the essence of a slow and elegant 60s croon that blinds us with its beauty.
2. YEAH YEAH YEAHS - “Burning”
We are equally excited of the return of Yeah Yeah Yeahs after nine years, who recently shared new single "Burning”. Inspired by Franki Valli's "Beggin", there's no denying the power in it, superbly characterised by Karen O's unmistakable voice. It's emotional, it's sentimental, and it's very much a classic YYY signature!
3. THE WOMBATS - “Is This What It Feels Like To Feel Like This”
Sometimes all we need is good rock workout. "Is This What It Feels Like To Feel Like This", the new single by The Wombats, is filled with heavy guitar riffs and an anthemic sing-a-long choruses. The result is a great head-shaking rock n roll track that's absolutely perfect for the Eatmepoptart dancefloors.
4. KASABIAN - “ALYGATYR”
Kasabian releases their first single after the departure of frontman Tom Meighan. "ALYGATYR" is a heavy in-your-face number with a chorus chant of "never back down" reminiscent of the stadium rock of Muse. It's totally enjoyable and perfect for those moments you let your hair down, get lose in the music and go 100% apeshit.
5. ALTERED IMAGES – “Beautiful Thing”
A lot of you weren't even born when Altered Images last released anything 39 (whutttt??) years ago. "Beautiful Thing", taken from their brand new album Mascara Streakz, thrusts the band, and vocalist Clare Grogan, once again into the limelight. The retro-electro-pop number is jam packed with all the 80s goodness of bright colours, feel-good choruses, jangly guitars, taking us back to the good old times of carefree sunny days.
