It’s the start of a brand new month. That always means we have a full month of parties to look forward to, as well as some fresh additions to the Eatmepoptart 2022 Spotify playlist.

This month, we have a 25 snazzy tracks thrown in, and we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be fun times blasting it during your pre-game drinking sesh with your closest friends and family. Check out our picks!

1. THE 1975 – “Part Of The Band”

The 1975, a favourite among the Eatmepoptart circles, has announced a new album Being Funny In A Foreign Language and has dropped the first single and video “Part Of The Band”. The band is typical by ironically not being typical, the single changes lanes from their last 2020 album Notes On A Conditional Form- gone out the window are the heavy rock and synth aesthetics, and here we welcome a fresh number that dials down the noise into an unexpected self-reflective folksy tune. Definitely not a 1am dancefloor banger- “Part Of The Band” sits atop on our playlists for 4am sleepless nights.

2. THE LINDA LINDAS – “Tonite”

Our favourite breakout band, The Linda Lindas, pay tribute to new wave legends The Go-Gos by releasing a cover of “Tonite”.

In a press release, the band reveals: “The Linda Lindas started out as a cover band, and we’ve played more songs by The Go-Go’s than anyone else. And even after we started to write our own songs, we never stopped playing “Tonite“.

It’s fun, it’s empowering, and it’s rumbling and it’s punk rock in every way possible!

3. PALE WAVES – “Reasons To Live

We’re really excited for the upcoming album by Pale Waves- Unwanted is set to be released later this month. The band recently kept our interest piqued with a self-shot video for “Reasons To Live”. The track is all the goodness we love about pop-punk and is penned by Heather Baron-Gracie about a dark time in her life: “‘Reasons To Live’ is about a time when I felt truly drained and incapable of happiness, then I found someone who showed me a reason to live.”

4. MUSE - “Kill Or Be Killed”

We love it when Muse go heavy, and “Kill Or Be Killed”, the latest single from their upcoming album Will Of The People, is just what the doctor ordered. From killer riffs to double bass drums to Matt Bellamy’s signature crooning, this track is a triumphant heavy metal war cry for soldiers of the Muse army to charge ahead and once again rule the world!

5. ALVVAYS – “Pharmacist”

Five years after the delightful album Antisocialistes, Alvvays makes a return with “Pharmacist”, the first single from their upcoming album Blue Rev. The single effortlessly proclaims all the dream-pop goodness we’ve loved about the band- delicious melodies layered with shoegazey noise and sugar-coated vocals that snugly tugs us into a really wonderful place.
