We recently had the grand honour of a banner contribution by a great local artist MessyMsxi, who did a fantastic job interpreting our motto ‘Never Lose That Feeling’.

MessyMsxi (pronounced Messy Missy) has a secret ambition: to be a heroine to others, by creating works that are fun, inspiring and philanthropic. Although still an self-professed amateur, she presses on with every challenge, devoting all her energy to creations that ultimately resonate with people; all in hope of making every single day on this planet, beautiful.

Some of us might have realised, this isn’t the first time she’s designed a Poptart artwork. Her first contribution was the flyer for Poptart’s 5th Anniversary party.

We rounded off the banner project with a little chat with the highly talented pixie.

What are the 3 songs or albums you’re listening to right now?
[MSXI] After ten years I’m still addicted to ‘Hana and Alice’ OST, ‘No More Stories Are Told Today, I’m Sorry, They Washed Away’ by Mew and ‘The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety’ by Toe

Biggest inspirations?
[MSXI] Two of my heroes would be Milton Glaser and Yoshitomo Nara, both highly talented and successful yet, humble.

Yoshitomo Nara, ” Never forget your beginner’s spirit”

Proudest moment.
[MSXI] Probably when I was called to receive my “New Talent of the Year” at London International Creative Competition in 2010. Felt extremely shy and nervous walking up to give a thank you speech at the awards ceremony, but at the same time ecstatic.

Favourite food
[MSXI] I love breakfasty food !!
